I'm not really sure when I turned from bratty little pre-teen to fairly-responsible high school girl. And I don't know when that girl turned into a young woman or when that young woman turned into an old woman. :) The transformation feels like it happened overnight, although I know it's been years in the making. I've always been told that I'm "more mature than others" my age, and I assume those people are telling me the truth and not hiding some flaw of mine.
Anywho, I recently discovered that I've really become a grown-up. Doing things like getting up early every day (except for the three or four days a month when I sleep til 10 or so) to fit things into the hours I have available to me. And drinking coffee every morning to get moving along. Things like a real job, an apartment, finances and menu-making. Stuff along the lines of careerr building, networking, friend-making and furniture-shopping. Some may say that I'm involved in too much, but let's face it...now is the time, right? No kids = extra time on my hands. I never thought I would enjoy being an adult -- except when I was in high school and had tons of homework that crowded my weekend fun. But I do. It's entertaining. It's enlightening. It's fulfilling. But man, is it hard work!
